It's good practice to ensure that you install a chimney liner or flue if you are installing a wood burning stove. Having one will ensure that you get the best draw from your chimney ensuring that features such as airwash work correctly and smoke does not leak from the stove.

 

Building regulations also require that your new stove is installed on a non-flammable plinth. With larger stoves you may need to install a permanent air vent into the room.
